Rimini, Teatro Galli, Teatro degli Atti and Corte degli Agostiniani
Symphonic Concerts, Chamber Music, Organ Concerts, Special Projects, Music and Words

The 2026 Sagra Musicale Malatestiana unfolds as a rich and diverse season that transforms Rimini into an international musical hub, weaving together great performers, artistic research, and local heritage.
The heart of the festival is the season of symphonic concerts at the Teatro Galli. The inauguration on Sunday, 30th August, is entrusted to the Münchner Philharmoniker conducted by Lahav Shani, with a programme featuring Shostakovich and Brahms. This is followed on 24th September by the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini with a journey dedicated to Wagner’s Ring Cycle. On 11th October, the Filarmonica della Scala arrives under the baton of Riccardo Chailly, while on 1st October, the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia hosts pianist Nikolai Lugansky. In autumn, on 1st November, the Orchestra Leonore conducted by Daniele Giorgi performs Bach’s Mass in B minor, and on 9th November, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, with Antonio Pappano and pianist Alexandre Kantorow, brings the series to a close.
Alongside the major concerts, special projects explore new languages and repertoires: Frammenti che cantano with Ensemble Micrologus evokes the medieval music of the Malatesta court (4 September); Regola, by NicoNote, is inspired by the figure of Hildegard von Bingen (30 September); and The Tempest Songbook intertwines the sounds of Kaija Saariaho and Henry Purcell, creating a bridge between the 17th century and the contemporary era (7 October).
The chamber music programme offers refined itineraries across different epochs: from the Baroque sounds of the Magnifica Baroque Ensemble (5 August) and Bellissima Licori (7 August in Sant'Agata Feltria) - in collaboration with the San Marino International Summer Courses-, to the Quartetto Doré with programmes focused on the "New World" (8 September), and the Accademia Bizantina conducted by Ottavio Dantone dedicated to Vivaldi (13 September). Also highly original is the concert featuring Il Pomo d’Oro and Giovanni Sollima, which draws a connection between Francesco Zappa and Frank Zappa (12 November). Finally, a commemorative concert featuring vocal and instrumental masterpieces, dedicated to the legacy of the late composer and honorary citizen of Rimini, Alfredo Speranza (7 November).
Lecture-concerts highlight Rimini's musical memory, narrating the lives of local figures such as Mario Bianchelli, Maria Rita Brondi, Amintore Galli, Angelica Quadrelli, and other local protagonists, pairing live performances with historical insights.
Great emphasis is placed on new generations in the "Music and Youth" section: Music Week (16 - 31 May) involves schools, the conservatory, and local organisations with widespread concerts and workshops. These are joined by a recital by pianist Daniele Martinelli, 2025 Venice Prize winner (8 November), and Cosmi sonori, performed by the Youth Orchestra and Choir of Rimini.
For dance, the central event is Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty, performed by the State Ballet of Georgia (Tbilisi) with choreography by Marius Petipa, in the version by Alexey Fadeechev and Nina Ananiashvili (2 December).
The programme is completed by organ concerts, dedicated to sacred repertoire and the city’s heritage, and the contemporary section Percuotere la mente, focused on cross-genre languages.
To support the listening experience, Parole per la musica (Words for Music) offers meetings with scholars and musicologists to delve deeper into the programmes and composers.

The World Cycling Summit gathers in Rimini in 2026. Wednesday 17 June: Bike Parade open to all

Rimini will host the 2026 edition of the prestigious Velo-city conference, the world cycling summit that returns to Italy after the distant 1991 edition. The European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) honoured Rimini's candidacy for its ability to move towards sustainable mobility and become a liveable and healthy city.
The World Cycling Summit, which returns to Italy after a good 35 years, is a great opportunity for the territory and will bring over 1,500 delegates from over 60 countries to Rimini for what is the most important knowledge exchange event for advocacy, administrations, policy-makers, academia and companies in the sector.
In its exceptional application, Rimini convened an impressive coalition of partners, including ECF’s member FIAB, which played a prominent role in securing the bid, and ANCI, the National Association of Italian Municipalities.
The programme includes conferences, workshops, and initiatives dedicated to urban design, cycling infrastructure, multimodal transport systems, active tourism, public health, and inclusion policies. It is organised around five thematic pillars: Built to Inspire (designing beautiful and functional urban environments), Cycling for Life (promoting healthy and active lifestyles), Multimodality (integrating different transport systems), Travel Reimagined (tourism and sustainability as drivers for development), and Good Vibes (social inclusion and a just transition).
A highlight not to be missed is the Bike Parade on 17 June. Open to everyone, the parade covers a spectacular 10 km route between the Parco del Mare and the historic centre. The event starts at 19:00 from the Lucio Battisti roundabout, with the procession of cyclists following a circular route around the old town—passing through Borgo San Giuliano and Viale Pascoli—before returning to Piazzale Fellini. The evening concludes with a festive atmosphere at the Bike Village, the main hub for the gathering and the grand finale. Open from 17:00 to midnight, the village will feature live entertainment, food trucks, and interactive stands dedicated to road safety.

International Animated Film, Comic and Games Festival - Riminicomix and Cosplay Convention

The 42nd edition of the premier summer event dedicated to animation, comics, and pop culture is back.
Set between the seafront and the historic centre—stretching across open-air arenas, museums, libraries, and art galleries—a rich programme of initiatives will paint the entire city in the thousand shades of pop culture. The line-up features 200 animated short films, film previews, creative workshops, masterclasses, meetings with internationally renowned authors and artists, and exhibitions. Among these is an exhibition dedicated to John Nevarez, a guest of the festival and visual development artist for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Coco, Inside Out, and many other animation masterpieces.
From 16th to 19th July, Piazzale Fellini will come alive with the grand gathering for fans of comics, anime, video games, and TV series. Every year, the square and the beachfront welcome publishers, artists, merchandise and comic book vendors, themed areas, and thrilling live performances.
The evenings on the Show & Music Stage will host concerts by Italian and international artists, such as:
Mai dire Goku: a live show featuring a band and DJ set built around the anime and cartoon theme songs that served as the soundtrack for an entire generation;
Raggi Fotonici: Long-standing composers of cartoon music (The Amazing World of Gumball, Fairy Tail, Digimon Adventure), celebrating 30 years in the industry and 25 years since their first live performance, which took place right here at RiminiComix;
Mika Kobayashi: The Japanese singer-songwriter and pianist, and one of the most iconic voices in anime music. She will take to the stage with a special show in collaboration with Tetsuro Shimaguchi—choreographer of the martial arts scenes in Tarantino’s Kill Bill and many other films—and his Samurai Artist Kamui troupe.
Finally, the grand finale on Sunday features Generazione Vanni, a unique show where you can sing along to your favourite theme tunes from the 90s to the present day with the iconic voice of Giorgio Vanni, followed by an energetic DJ set, "Alla DiscoTEKa", by Daniel Tek.
Cosplay remains a major highlight (16th–19th July), thanks to one of the most significant conventions in Italy, which will culminate on the afternoon of Saturday 18th July with the official contest. Furthermore, for the first time in Rimini, visitors can experience Crossover Wrestling, Italy’s only cosplay wrestling show.
One of the most atmospheric events is Italy’s Largest Cosplay Sunrise: a unique gathering on the morning of 18th July that will bring together hundreds of cosplayers and enthusiasts for a group photo by the sea at daybreak, transforming the Rimini beach into an extraordinary stage suspended between fantasy and reality.
This year’s Guest of Honour is Giorgio Cavazzano, one of the great masters of European comics, celebrated for revolutionising the Disney style with his dynamic and cinematic approach. An exhibition titled "Giorgio Cavazzano: The Mark of a Master" is dedicated to his art, tracing his career and highlighting the evolution of his style—from a pioneer of Disney storytelling to a benchmark for younger artists. Hosted at the Rimini City Museum from 12th July to 6th September, the exhibition features original plates from iconic stories such as Mickey & Minnie in "Casablanca" (a parody of the famous film), Mickey Mouse and the Secret of the Castle (the first Disney "choose-your-own-adventure" story), Topo Maltese (a tribute to Hugo Pratt’s sailor), and Uncle Scrooge and the Formula One Adventure. Also featured is a showcase of covers, non-Disney characters, and a section dedicated to Mickey Mouse presents: La Strada, based on the immortal Fellini film—an essential tribute in the great director's home city.
During the evening of Saturday 18th July, Cavazzano will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for Comic Literature, an honour the festival bestows annually upon the masters who have shaped the history and evolution of illustrated art. To mark the occasion, a staged reading of Mickey Mouse presents: La Strada will be performed in collaboration with the Fellini Museum.

The 'Most Beautiful Race in the World' Makes a stop in Rimini

The 1000 Miglia, founded in 1927 as a speed race by Giovanni Canestrini, Franco Mazzotti, Renzo Castagneto, and Aymo Maggi, is today a prestigious regularity race for historic cars that traverses some of Italy's most picturesque landscapes.
The event celebrates automotive heritage, the beauty of the territory, and the charm of vintage cars, offering an immersive week-long experience for both participants and passionate spectators, while respecting the daring spirit of its origins.
Named "44th historical reenactment 1000 Miglia 2026 - Ferrari tribute 1000 Miglia 2026 - 1000 Miglia experience gran turismo 2026", the event takes place along the traditional route from Brescia to Rome and back, exclusively involving cars that participated in or completed at least one edition between 1927 and 1957, and that are registered in the 1000 Miglia Registry.
This year, from June 9 to 13, more than 400 historic cars will travel through spectacular landscapes, art cities, mountain passes, and UNESCO sites, offering a journey through art, design, and history on highly charming roads.
The fourth stage concludes in Rimini on June 12, after traveling through the countryside and roads between Rome and Rimini, with the arrival of the first car in Piazza Malatesta/Cavour in the historic center around 6:30 PM. In the evening, the cars will park by the sea in Piazzale Fellini.
The fifth stage, on the other hand, sets off on June 13 from the Rimini coastline—specifically departing from Via Destra del Porto (starting at 6:30 AM in front of the Club Nautico)—to continue the return journey toward Brescia, thus closing an event that unites passion, history, and the scenic beauty of Italy.

800th Anniversary Celebrations organised by the Ponte dei Miracoli Association

Rimini renews its historic bond with Saint Anthony of Padua, the "Saint of Miracles". Exactly eight hundred years ago, he chose the city of Rimini as the setting for two of his most famous wonders: the Sermon to the Fish and the Eucharistic Miracle of the Mule.
The celebrations are divided into two evocative sessions that retrace the symbolic locations of the Saint's presence in Rimini:
Morning at the Port – Honouring the Sermon to the Fish: The event begins at sea with a boat excursion departing from Piazzale Boscovich for a formal blessing and the traditional throwing of lilies into the water. This is followed by a floral tribute at the commemorative stele on the harbour wharf.
Afternoon in the City Centre – Honouring the Miracle of the Mule: The heart of the city hosts the veneration of the relic and a historical sacred performance in Piazza Tre Martiri, enhanced by a wooden art installation dedicated to the Saint by sculptor Fiorenzo Montalti. The day concludes with a Solemn Mass presided over by the Bishop at the Tempietto del Bramante, accompanied by the Cappella Malatestiana Choir.
Organised by the Ponte dei Miracoli Association in collaboration with the Diocese of Rimini, this year's festivities hold national significance, under the patronage of the National Committee for the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis.

La Notte Rosa: Pink Night by the Sea - 6th Edition

Once again this year, the beach of Rimini South transforms into a grand stage under the stars.
The appointment on Friday 19 June at Riva (the sea shore) celebrates ten years of 'Un Mare di Vino' (A Sea of Wine). From Bagno 50 to Bagno 63, Piacere Spiaggia Rimini transforms the coastline into a sensory journey with your feet in the sand and your gaze towards the sea.
It will be a great celebration dedicated to the wineries of the Rimini Hills and the flavours of the local area. A special opportunity to rediscover wine as an authentic experience of sharing, meeting, and conviviality. To enrich the celebration, a beach exhibition will tell the stories of the wines and producers of the Wine Route, with the aim of bringing people closer to this world while enhancing its link with the land. Alongside the wine, food will also have a dedicated space, where local products will become an expression of taste and identity.
The event starts as early as 18:30, inaugurating the longest and most engaging beach day of the summer.
The evening will come alive with an immersive experience including live music, contemporary circus shows, and performances by fire artists. The rhythm of the dances by the sea will be set by '70s, '80s, and '90s DJ sets, creating a vibrant and timeless atmosphere.
The great novelty will be Ballo 2.0: local dance schools will bring styles from all over the world to the beach. This initiative will create a large open-air stage, positioned directly by the sea to involve all participants in a collective movement.
To close the experience, the brightest beach walk ever, to live and share the magic of the night until the very last moment. An immersive, multi-sensory, poetry-filled experience celebrating the summer of the Riviera.

One section is dedicated to the DC Universe. Ahead of the theatrical release of the new Supergirl film, scheduled for 25th June 2026, the space offers a dedicated photo booth and an evening DJ set.
Sport also finds a home during the Rimini stage with a branded Space Jam basketball court. The initiative celebrates the 30th anniversary of the original 1996 film, which has since become a pop culture touchstone. In the dedicated area, visitors can take part in 3v3 basketball tournaments, technical challenges, and other dynamic activities related to the Looney Tunes characters.
The tour also includes attractions inspired by other famous entertainment icons. For Batman fans, a boulder climbing area has been set up, echoing the Gotham City skyline, while younger visitors can enjoy a space dedicated to Scooby-Doo, where they can take photos next to the Mystery Machine, the iconic vehicle from the animated series.
Great fantasy sagas occupy a significant part of the programme. Stage activities and themed areas are planned for House of the Dragon, the series set in the universe of Westeros, and for The Lord of the Rings. The latter is celebrated on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of The Fellowship of the Ring, the first chapter of the film trilogy that made cinematic history for the fantasy genre worldwide.
The programme is completed by a schedule of entertainment, live music, and plenty of fun, alongside special moments dedicated to celebrating some of the most iconic Warner Bros. films.
In Rimini, the Village will open on Friday evening (at 9:00 pm) to coincide with the main night of the Notte Rosa.

Saturday 20 June 2026
viale Principe di Piemonte, 56 - Rimini
Concert at dawn on the occasion of the Notte Rosa (Pink Night)

At dawn on Saturday, 20th June, a soul-stirring concert will take place on the beach at Rimini Terme in Miramare. This traditional event invites the public to gather by the shoreline as the sun rises, marking a highlight of the Notte Rosa (Pink Night) celebrations.
This year’s performers are Petra Magoni and the Arké String Quartet with "Subversion", a production that weaves together music and storytelling in a breathtaking seaside setting.
The repertoire spans diverse genres and eras, pairing composers and songs that have redefined how we listen to and interpret reality. The setlist includes reimagined works by artists such as Pink Floyd, Nina Simone, The Beatles, David Bowie, and Fabrizio De André, alongside the compositions of Mozart, John Cage, Frank Zappa, Giorgio Gaber, and Franco Battiato.
The performance is designed as a "theatrical concert," where the voice intertwines with string instruments and electronic elements, enhanced by carefully curated lighting and visuals. The experience is intended to be fully immersive, harmonising with the natural atmosphere of the daybreak.
Performing alongside Petra Magoni, the Arké String Quartet features Carlo Cantini on electric violin, Valentino Corvino on violin, oud, and live electronics, Matteo Del Soldà on viola, and Stefano Dall’Ora on double bass.
This is a free event and a key part of the Notte Rosa programme, offering an accessible and evocative cultural moment that blends live music with the beauty of the coastal landscape.

La Notte Rosa: the Pink Night continues with 3 days of ballroom dancing and more

Following the success of last year’s event, Rimini welcomes back the Liscio Street Parade. This highlight of the Notte Rosa (Pink Night) dedicated to local music and dance transforms Piazzale Kennedy into a vast open-air arena, where orchestras, dance schools, and DJs take turns over three days to celebrate Romagna’s traditions.
The star of the show is Liscio, presented in both its classic form and contemporary evolutions that bridge the generational gap. The format blends the energy of live orchestras with professional choreography and the upbeat tempo of "disco-liscio" DJ sets, offering a dynamic and festive take on regional heritage.
Sunday 21 June: The grand finale of the Notte Rosa begins at 18:00 with the Orchestra Santa Balera, the Gen Z of Liscio with a completely renewed lineup. At 21:30, the Roberta Cappelletti Orchestra takes to the stage, followed by a closing DJ set at 23:00.
Monday 22 June: An evening focused on folklore with folk dancers, the energy of the whips (fruste), and the Parade of the Dance Schools. Live music is provided by La Storia di Romagna Orchestra (21:30), with a DJ set from 23:00.
Tuesday 24 June: The final date features the Luca Bergamini Orchestra (21:30) for a finale with a Caribbean twist, concluding the festival with a themed DJ set dedicated to Latin rhythms.
The event is organised by Materiali Musicali and Sirene Danzanti. It is a perfect opportunity to celebrate a passion for dance in all its forms.

Rimini, Palasport Flaminio
at the Palasport Flaminio

While awaiting the World Skate Games, the "World Games" of roller sports, which will take place from October 2 to 18 in Asunción (Paraguay), the Italian Roller Sports Federation has chosen Rimini as the host city for the 2026 Italian Championships - C/Y/J/S Categories. This is the most anticipated and prestigious competition on the entire sports calendar, representing the main qualification benchmark for the selective categories (Cadets, Jeunesse, Junior, and Senior).
For nearly three weeks, the Romagna rink will be the stage for a challenge of the highest technical and emotional level, where the best Italian athletes will compete for the national title and a spot on the world championship team.
This will not be a simple showcase, but rather the competition with the highest technical level in the world. With the consolidation of the Rollart judging system, the challenge will be decided by infinitesimal details. The judges will strictly evaluate the quality of transitional passes, edge depth, and artistic interpretation. For the Senior category, in particular, the fight for the three world championship spots will be a true test of precision, where every single element of the short and long programs will make a difference.
The competitions will see athletes engaged in the following specialties: Freeskating (Singolo), Solo Dance, and Pairs (Coppie d'Artistico).

9 July - 12 November 2026
Rimini, teatro Galli and Corte degli Agostiniani
Contemporary Section of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana 2026

Music as a sanctuary, a dialogue, a claim, and a vision for the future rooted in its origins. It serves as a tool for inner exploration and a medium for the body to tell its story through dance and poetry. The 2026 edition of Percuotere la mente—the contemporary section of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana—continues to expand and deepen its artistic reach. The program will guide audiences from summer through November, moving between the Corte degli Agostiniani, Teatro Galli, and Teatro degli Atti.
Staying true to its mission of breaking down the boundaries of genres and languages, this journey opens even further to collaborations and artistic crossovers. The first act (July 9) at Teatro Galli features a performance blending live music and dance, directed by Lebanese choreographer Ali Chahrour in collaboration with Santarcangelo Festival 2026.
This marks the start of a musical voyage that will lead into the dreamlike and cinematic atmospheres of Patrick Watson (July 24), making his highly anticipated return to the stage. It continues with the magnetic voice of Anna von Hausswolff (August 9), showcasing the intensity of the pipe organ in dialogue with percussion and guitars—a performance ranging from dark rock to intimate reflections (in collaboration with Mind Marea).
Autumn brings the discovery of experimentation and psychedelic compositions with the Wayne Horvitz Electric Circus (October 10). The American composer will be joined by top musicians from the Tuscany-Emilia-Romagna region, exploring everything from Miles Davis to improvisation. On October 17, the focus shifts to the "sounds of the roots" with Tecno Zaclèn, where the poetry of Pedretti and the raw sounds of the land and the coast are remastered and recomposed through digital technology.
Finally, on November 12, Giovanni Sollima, Vanni Moretto, and Il Pomo d’Oro will bridge the gap between genres by comparing the rock of Frank Zappa with the works of 18th-century cellist and composer Francesco Zappa—the very figure the American rock star celebrated in his 1984 album.
