The new season at Rimini’s Teatro Galli promises a vibrant mix of theater and dance, with a program that gives a strong voice to female artists, offers intelligent and witty social commentary, and uses the stage as a space for deep reflection. The lineup is rich with diverse performances, bringing some of the most important and recent Italian productions to Rimini. The shows feature prominent directors like Antonio Latella and Martin McDonagh, and star celebrated Italian actors, including Ambra Angiolini, Daniele Pecci, and Vinicio Marchioni. The season also welcomes major companies like Teatro dell’Elfo and the Balletto di Roma.
The main program, divided into the A-B-C series, is composed of seven shows that alternate between different moods and time periods, offering audiences a journey through laughter, bittersweet smiles, and profound insights. Meanwhile, the "Other Paths" program, or the D series, provides a focused look at contemporary society. This section of the season is unified by themes such as female narratives, tyranny, censorship, and the rhetoric of modern life, offering a powerful perspective on today's world.
Beyond the main subscription, the theater offers an exciting list of special performances. A major highlight is the return of the smash hit musical "Saturday Night Fever" on February 18th and 19th, produced by the Compagnia della Rancia. Comedy fans can look forward to a new monologue by the popular Italian comedian Paolo Cevoli on October 28th and 29th, and lovers of classic operetta will enjoy the Compagnia Corrado Abbati's production of "Cin Cin Là" on December 8th.
The dance season also presents two highly anticipated events featuring renowned Italian companies. The Balletto di Roma will restage their work "La dernière danse?" on November 28th. Following this, on January 31st, the Compagnia Artemis Danza/Monica Casadei will perform their piece titled "Puccini’s Opera - Voci di donne", an evocative production inspired by the famous composer's female characters.
"Theater No Limits": This special project is designed to make theater accessible for people with visual disabilities. It provides audio descriptions for three shows, allowing visually impaired audience members to fully appreciate costumes, movements, and other visual elements of the performance.
Youth and Family Theater: A special program for young audiences continues at the Teatro degli Atti. It includes a series of shows for schools and a family-focused initiative called "Sciroppo di Teatro", with three shows for children aged 3 to 11. Beyond this, there are four special events designed to support and showcase young local dancers, further strengthening the connection between the arts and the community.
Every corner of the city turns into an outdoor stage for a month of music, art, performances and Christmas events. The spectacle of the illuminations, art exhibitions, Christmas markets, ice skating rink, traditional Nativity scenes and those made by sand, light up the atmosphere of the most anticipated holidays with a new and welcoming light on the whole city.
The magic of the Christmas season begins on 23 November with ‘Il sogno del Natale’ (The Christmas Dream), a 100-kilometre-long coordinated light display that involves the entire city: from the centre to the suburbs, from the seafront to the outskirts. This magic also extends to the winter sea, where the elevated dune comes alive with 30 benches linked by a string of lights and artistic installations.
The highlight of the event is the New Year's Eve party, which this year begins on 29 December with the sounds of Edoardo Bennato, followed by Francesca Michielin's live on 30 December and ends on 31 December with a series of New Year’s Eve celebrations spread throughout the city, perfect for Rimini's choral toast to the New Year, which will culminate with the double performance of the Fire at the Castle in Rimini's Piazza dei Sogni.
Alongside dance music, famous DJs, Latin American dances, and the tradition of swing, warming up the city centre, the Liscio Street Parade – New Year Edition will take place for the first time on New Year's Eve, transforming also the seaside area into a open-air dance hall.
We wait for you in December to experience the magic of Christmas and New Year's celebrations in Rimini together! Stay tuned
On the occasion of Don Oreste Benzi's birth centenary, a place dedicated to the priest from Rimini opens in the heart of the city where it is possible to learn about and explore the life and thought of the ‘priest with the worn cassock’. From 13 September, the halls of the Palazzi dell'Arte will reopen to the public and host an exhibition dedicated to the work of Marco Pesaresi, which depicts a nocturnal, marginal, vibrant and often invisible Rimini.
Over one hundred photographs – many of which are unpublished, in colour and large format – construct a narrative that traverses venues, bodies, dreams and transgressions. These images correspond to Pier Vittorio Tondelli's novel “Rimini”, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. The exhibition dedicated to the work of Marco Pesaresi and the novel by Pier Vittorio Tondelli come together to recreate the image of Rimini at the end of the millennium, a city of culture and humanity, dreams and transgressions.
The exhibition, curated by Jana Liskova and Mario Beltrambini, inaugurates the new season at the Palazzi dell'Arte and has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Municipality of Savignano and Isa Perazzini, the photographer's mother.
Opening cerimony on Saturday 13 September from 6pm to 9pm. Free admission. The curators will be present.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays > 10:00 to 13:00 / 16:00 to 19:00
On the occasion of the tercentenary of Cardinal Giuseppe Garampi's birth, the Gambalunga Civic Library pays tribute to one of its most illustrious figures with an exhibition that traces the life, work and cultural legacy of the Rimini prelate.
Seventeen years after the previous exhibition, the precious manuscripts and printed volumes that Garampi donated to the Library and bequeathed in his will are once again on display in the Ancient Rooms, a living testimony to his passion for books and shared knowledge.
An internationally renowned figure, Giuseppe Garampi (1725–1792) was a priest, prefect of the Vatican Secret Archives, bishop, cardinal and diplomat. His education began in Rimini, where, at a very young age, he joined the Gambalunga Library as deputy custodian and attended the Accademia dei Lincei, refounded by Giovanni Bianchi (Iano Planco). He left his hometown to embark on a journey that took him to the great capitals of Europe, without ever forgetting his origins. He left a legacy of manuscripts, incunabula and unique documents at the Gambalunga, many of which are now irreplaceable sources for historical research.
The exhibition is a journey through time, through the rooms and papers that tell the story of a man capable of combining faith, culture and diplomacy, the spiritual heir of Alessandro Gambalunga, founder of the library. A legacy that continues to illuminate the present, preserving the past and offering new insights for the future.
from Monday to Friday: 10-13; 15-18
Saturday: 10-13
Special openings: Sunday 16 November and Saturday 29 November: 4pm–7pm
A reconstruction of the urban visual landscape in the 1980s, which inspired writer Pier Vittorio Tondelli.
The exhibition, curated by Fabio Bruschi, shows us how the city of Rimini shaped its identity, becoming a crossroads of trends, culture and nightlife.
The exhibition is not just a collection of memories, but a real journey through posters, catalogues, photographs, reports, sketches and visual memories that tell us about the years when Rimini became a crossroads for freedom and creativity.
The exhibition features a wealth of previously unseen material that brings the vibrancy of those years back to life. From Oliviero Toscani's photo shoot at the Grand Hotel (1982) to the original audio recording of Pier Vittorio Tondelli's first presentation of “Rimini” in Correggio (1985); from the parades of the Teatro Valdoca (1980) to the new wave flyers by Castelvetro, Sirotti, Garattoni and Tonti; from Stefano Ferroni's photographs of Rimini Cultural Summer (1980) and rock concerts to the “Sacchi a pelo” (Sleeping Bags) photographic series by Minghini, Paritani and Foto Riccione; from historical images of Enrico Berlinguer's visit to the Galleria dell'Immagine (1980) to those of Palmiro Togliatti inaugurating the Sala Sirenetta in Viserba (1957), the same place that a generation later would become the Slego, the beating heart of Rimini's nightlife.

An exhibition that transforms the dune of the Rimini beach into a temporary observatory of the present, a place where languages intertwine like waves - photography, illustration, urban art, and visual writing - giving the public a constantly changing landscape, suspended between art and nature, between sky, land and sea. Each piece of work - image and text, totalling twenty display panels -is an ephemeral trace that questions the threshold between what emerges and what disappears, between memory and future, between the individual and the collective. A means to observe our time from its shifting frontiers, where the land ends and thought begins.
Opening: on Sunday 16 November from 12.30pm

Rimini beach is filled with the magic of Christmas thanks to ‘Un Mare d'Inverno’ (A Winter Sea), an initiative that transforms the coastline into a poetic landscape, where art, nature and light come together to showcase the beauty of the sea even in the quietest season.
The raised dune, erected to protect the coast during the winter season, comes alive with 30 benches and art installations, which become the heart of a widespread exhibition route. The art installations, part of the Mind Marea project, are placed along the dune and in the most evocative spots along the coastline, inviting visitors and citizens to stop, observe, listen and be inspired by the dialogue between art and the sea. Each bench offers a different perspective on the theme of the horizon, memory and movement, transforming the beach into an open-air museum.
From 22 November, a string of lights accompanies visitors along the dune, creating a luminous corridor that blends into the horizon. A picturesque route, to be enjoyed by day and by night, combining works of art with the warm, enveloping light of the festive season, blending the poetry of the sea and the Christmas atmosphere into a single experience.
'Un Mare d'Inverno', curated by Piacere Spiaggia Rimini, is an invitation to experience the sea in every season: for a walk among art and nature, a moment of contemplation on the benches overlooking the sea or an opportunity for meeting and shared inspiration. Rimini once again presents itself as a city capable of combining creativity, culture and landscape, where the light of Christmas meets the depth of the sea and the sensitivity of those who live there.
On 23rd November, Rimini lights up with "the Christmas Dream", the coordinated illumination of 100 kilometres spread throughout the city, at the beach from Miramare to Torre Pedrera, passing through the various districts and boroughs, to the historic centre. A Christmas of tradition, with ceilings of stars, luminous installations, and Christmas decorations.
To light up the magic of Christmas, at 6 pm on Sunday 23 November, an evocative countdown creating the anticipation in full Christmas spirit and officially kicking off the programme of events 'Rimini, the world's longest New Year's Eve', which will last until Epiphany. The lighting ceremony, scheduled for 6 p.m., will be preceded by the arrival in Piazza Cavour of the ‘È per te’ walk to protest violence against women and an evocative show capable of creating anticipation, while the scene will be populated by artists in costume. But the climax will come around 6 p.m. with the simultaneous lighting of 100 kilometres of lights. An explosive moment, punctuated by confetti cannons and the festive notes of a medley of Christmas songs, which will kick off an evening finale filled with music and entertainment.
Even the beach lights up for Christmas. In the harbour area, the ice rink and Christmas village between Piazzale Boscovich and the beach will be decked out in festive decorations in anticipation of the official opening on Saturday 29th. The monumental sand nativity scene created by internationally renowned master sculptors will also be back again this year. On the beach a fascinating walk suspended over the sand dunes, comes to life with 30 benches connected by lights and installations with 'Un mare d'Inverno', "A winter's sea".

These intricate works depict biblical scenes, figures, and architectural details of rare beauty, with a special focus on the theme of Noah's Ark.

Rimini is preparing to experience the days leading up to New Year's Eve with another musical event. Francesca Michielin will be the star of a special concert on 30 December in Piazza Malatesta, one of the most evocative settings in the historic centre, nestled between Castel Sismondo and the Galli Theatre.
This event is part of the two-evening preview calendar accompanying the city towards the new year, a programme dedicated to music in its most authentic form: the live performance.
One of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters and multi-instrumentalists on the current scene, Francesca Michielin continues to stand out for her sound research, sensitivity, and versatility. On 4 October, she took to the stage of the Verona Arena for the first time, treating the audience to a captivating concert and achieving a record of over 10,000 spectators. On that occasion, she performed "La voce che credevo di aver perso" live, a track that completes her new EP ANIME, released on 3 October (Columbia Records/Sony Music Italy).
The singer-songwriter will then return to the stage in Autumn 2026 with a tour of major Italian theatres, from Trento to Naples.
Following her debut at the Sanremo Festival in 2016 with "Nessun grado di separazione" – the song with which she represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest – and her participation in 2021 with "Chiamami per nome" alongside Fedez, and her unprecedented role as orchestra conductor in 2022, Francesca Michielin competed in the Sanremo Festival 2025 with the track "Fango in Paradiso."
In 2022, she celebrated her first ten years in music by debuting in fiction with the novel Il cuore è un organo, and as a host for Effetto Terra (Sky Nature) and X Factor, returning to the stage of her 2012 debut. She also conquered the silver screen with “Nei tuoi occhi,” the soundtrack for the film Marylin ha gli occhi neri, earning her a nomination for both the David di Donatello and the Nastri d’Argento awards.
Deeply connected to the live dimension - which she has explored in every form, from solo acoustic sets in clubs to festivals and theatres - Francesca Michielin will open the Rimini evening with a concert full of emotion and energy, performing the songs that have made her one of the most beloved voices in the Italian music scene. It will be an intense performance, meticulously crafted, where every note and every word becomes a bespoke gesture: intimate, authentic, and profoundly personal.
Concert starts at 9.15 p.m.

Round 12 pm
True to tradition, the new year opens with the grandeur of great opera.
On Thursday, January 1st, 2026, at 5:30 PM, the curtain rises on Aida, the melodrama in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi, with a libretto by Antonio Ghislanzoni.
The staging, curated by the Coro Lirico Città di Rimini Amintore Galli in collaboration with the Municipality of Rimini, will feature Maestro Jacopo Rivani conducting the Orchestra La Corelli di Ravenna, with direction by Paolo Panizza and chorus master Marcello Mancini.
Born from a blend of history and legend, Aida originated from the desire of the Khedive of Egypt, Isma'il Pasha, to celebrate the opening of the Suez Canal with a spectacular opera. After an initial refusal, Verdi accepted the challenge, giving life in 1871 to a masterpiece that continues to enchant the world today.
This is an unmissable event to start 2026 enveloped in the magic of Italian melodrama.

The exciting Olympic Flame Relay will make its stop on January 5th, 2026, engaging the entire city, from the seafront to the historic center. Celebratory activities will take place throughout the day, culminating around 7:30 PM in Piazza Malatesta with the lighting of the cauldron by the final torchbearer.
The honor goes to Nicole Piomboni, the Rimini native and prominent player for the Under 21 National Volleyball Team, who was a key figure in securing the gold medal victory in Indonesia.
This moment of strong collective participation will make Rimini a vibrant, integral part of this thrilling national experience celebrating the Olympic values, right in the heart of the festive atmosphere.
On Epiphany Day, Rimini hosts a great event narrating the arrival of the Magi.
Thanks to the involvement of many groups from Rimini and hundreds of foreigners resident in Rimini, coming from Peru, Venezuela, Hungary, Senegal, Romania, the Philippines, China, etc., a richly costumed procession with traditional music, dances, and songs will wind its way through Rimini's symbolic locations to celebrate the arrival of the mysterious Kings from the East and involve everyone present in a festive moment.
The arrival of the Three Wise Men is a festivity celebrated in many countries around the world, which the little ones await to see Balthasar, Melchior and Gasparre in person, so charming in their glittering robes, surrounded by a court of curious exotic animals and always gracious with gifts for the children.
The Three Kings arrive on board of a trabaccolo, a typical local boat, at the Bridge of Tiberius, where the meeting with King Herod takes place. The Three Kings aim at the Comet Star and the procession continues on foot through the historic centre, stopping in Piazza Cavour 'on the square of Bethlehem' and then along Via IV Novembre where 'The Three Kings present their gifts' and finally arrive in the Cathedral Basilica, Rimini's Malatesta Temple, to 'adore the King of Kings'.
In a particularly evocative festive atmosphere, a sign of unity and brotherhood for all peoples.
A production by Made Officina Creativa, executive organisation by the Ponte dei Miracoli Association, in collaboration with the Municipality and Diocese of Rimini.
Time: from 5pm to 7pm

Legio XIII Gemina - Rubico, the reenactment group of the first legion of Ariminum, celebrates the tradition of commemorating Julius Caesar's entry into the city after crossing the Rubicon.
It was 10 January 49 B.C. when the commander crossed what was the ‘limes’, to arrive at the first light of dawn in Ariminum, with only one legion in his retinue, the XIII.
The re-enactment begins at 4 p.m. in the square on the water in front of Tiberius' bridge. Here the Legionnaires offer instruction on armaments and perform some typical manoeuvres of the legion.
Then the Legion will parade all through the city walking along Corso D'Augusto upto Piazza III Martiri (formerly the city forum) where at around 5.15 p.m. the speech (reported by historical chroniclers) that Julius Caesar made to Legio XIII will be played, followed by the oath that the legionaries took.
A free historical educational event, suitable for adults and children, a way to relive an important moment that had the city of Rimini as a protagonist in history.

‘The Wonders of Rimini’ is a real journey through centuries of history.
The Arch of Augustus and the Bridge of Tiberius tell of Ariminum, an important Latin colony and crossroads of the greatest Roman roads such as the Via Flaminia, the Via Emilia and the Via Aretina.
The first monument of the Italian Renaissance, the Malatesta Temple (exterior) is the protagonist of one of the most important historical periods in the city and together with Castel Sismondo (exterior) tells of the great leader Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta.
The tour continues through the streets of the old town to Piazza Cavour with the Fontana della Pigna, once adulated by Leonardo da Vinci, the Vecchia Pescheria and the ‘A. Galli’ Theatre.
The journey continues into the 20th century with Federico Fellini and the Fulgor Cinema.
With this new creation by Monica Casadei, the Artemis Danza Company dedicates its artistic project to four fascinating heroines of composer Giacomo Puccini, on the centenary of his death: Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Mimì and Turandot.
In Puccini's Opera. Voci di donne (Voices of Women), we find Monica Casadei's personal interpretation of the theme of femininity at the centre of a process of choreographic, visual and musical reinterpretation. The protagonists are women who are as diverse as they are linked by a common thread of contemporary and timeless stories. Tragic love, thwarted and opposed love, cruel love that destroys, the desire for possession that leads to destruction: all this lives in the faces, bodies and gestures of the dancers and never ceases to make us reflect on the relevance of stories that have moved audiences around the world.
The result of Artemis Danza's research is a choral dance rich in impulses and passions, instinctive and at times wild, which makes whirlwind use of space and appears visually full: the solos are surrounded and protected by frames of ensembles, in a dynamic accelerated by propulsive forces that bring the drama and passions of the protagonists to life in the body and in the gut. Puccini's orchestral score is accompanied by electronic tracks by Fabio Fiandrini for Bohème and Turandot and Luca Vianini for Butterfly and Tosca, creating an enveloping and at times apocalyptic soundscape.

Saturday Night Fever, the musical, produced by Compagnia della Rancia under licence from Broadway Licensing, is directed by Mauro Simone and inspired by the 1977 Paramount/RSO film and Nik Cohn's story exploring new trends in nightlife and the disco scene, adapted for the stage by Robert Stigwood in collaboration with Bill Oakes (North American version written by Sean Cercone and David Abbinanti), with the engaging soundtrack by the Bee Gees and arrangements and orchestrations by David Abbinanti.
Directed by Mauro Simone, who takes his cue from the film's immersive shots and the unforgettable sequence with a very young John Travolta, the theatre production brings freshness and relevance to the story of Italian-American Tony Manero, who marked a generation.
On stage, 21 performers bring to life the legendary hits of the Bee Gees, from Stayin' Alive and Night Fever to You Should Be Dancing and How Deep Is Your Love, global disco music successes but, at the same time, symbols of 1970s culture, hymns of freedom, courage and the fight against marginalisation. The lyrics of some of the songs have been translated by Franco Travaglio, while the songs that accompany the scenes set in 2001: A Space Odyssey are performed in English.
