In its 75th edition, it offers an expanded programme both in terms of the number of participants and the calendar, confirming that the Sagra is not just a top event in the city's cultural proposals, but a festival that can accompany the public through the seasons.
There are special projects for the Biennale del Disegno, a tribute to Giacomo Manzoni, organ concerts, early music, avant-garde performances of music and words, and of course 'Percuotere la mente'. It reaches its climax in September with the Symphonic Concerts and ends with chamber music.

One of the strands running through the 2024_25 prose and dance programme of the Galli Theatre in Rimini are the great classics of literature and some of the most complex and timeless myths of western culture, declined through contemporary languages and themes. A journey between the fantastic and the unknown, between history and the complexity of everyday life, accompanied by famous artists and performers such as Lella Costa, Ferzan Ozpetek, Emma Dante, Maddalena Crippa, Silvio Orlando, Alessandro Haber, Fabrizio Gifuni, Sergio Rubini, Ascanio Celestini, Elena Bucci and established authors and directors such as Alessandro Serra, Peter Stein and Arturo Cirillo.
Twenty-six titles are on the programme, including subscription shows (divided into the usual ABC and D rounds), non-subscription proposals and special dance events.
Once again this season there will be space for the great musical with 'Fame' (Saranno Famosi), a legendary and timeless phenomenon of pop culture, brought to the stage by the Roma City Musical company (1 and 2 February) with a cast of first-rate artists such as Barbara Cola, Garrison Rochelle, Lorenza Mario, Stefano Bontempi with choreography by Luciano Cannito. There will also be the traditional rendez-ous with Operetta and the Compagnia Corrado Abbati, which this year proposes a new edition of one of its best-loved repertoire titles, La vedova allegra (14 December).
It will be up to dance to inaugurate the Season on Friday 8 November with an international excellence: Parsons Dance, the American contemporary dance company among the most successful in the world, loved by audiences of all ages for the vitality of its choreographies that seem to defy the force of gravity, will return to Italy with its new tour, Balance of Power, which in a little over a month will touch down in Rimini and some of the main national theatres. The route that the Season dedicates to dance will then see the return to the Galli of the Centro Coreografico Nazionale - Aterballetto (9 February) with a brand new triptych signed by choreographers Crystal Pite, Philippe Kratz and Diego Tornelli.
The Season's side projects also include two special appointments: a classic ballet repertoire such as 'Swan Lake' (7 December), directed by Arturo Cannistrà and interpreted by a cast of 100 young male and female dancers and a collective performance with Riminese artists and theatre companies staging 'Zitti tutti!' (29 March), a theatrical monologue written by Raffaello Baldini in 1993.
The Summer festival of meetings, exhibitions, music, shows, sports and children's village activities, is now in its 46th edition, which focuses on friendship between peoples. An international event that addresses crucial topics, in free and open dialogue with the most interesting personalities of culture, politics and faith.
The 2025 edition will bear the title ‘In vacant places we will build with new bricks’, taken from the Choruses from ‘The Rock’ by Thomas Stearns Eliot, on which conferences, exhibitions and performances will take shape.
As usual, many will be the activities for young people both in the Sports Village with its 13,000 square metres of playing fields and in the Youth Village, a very large space with exhibitions, theatre, workshops and events.
The Meeting is also an event that is narrated live using new technologies: the main conferences are broadcast in Italian, English and Spanish on the website and the Youtube channel and are later available in other languages.
The heart of the event are the three thousand volunteers who come to Rimini from Italy and all over the world to organise, set up and run the Meeting.
The old town hosts an exhibition/ market of antique, modern and vintage items where you can find a wide selection of ceramics, glassware, books, furniture, jewelry, silverware and various objects, all carefully dated or antique.
from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm
This is the music festival, a thematic section of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana, for new sounds, that this year will not only accompany the summer as per tradition, but will offer concerts and special events from July until late November, at Corte degli Agostiniani and Teatro Galli.
Ludovico Einaudi's music opens the festival.
The first stage runs through five appointments that illuminate a musical universe with a neo-classical minimalist imprint: Ludovico Einaudi (7 July), a tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto (8 July), Hania Rani (9 July) and the OHT company, led by director Filippo Andreatta with two works from musical theatre (30 and 31 October). The second follows paths contaminated by multiple influences, resonating with the echoes of the first path, with both cultured and popular crossings, acoustic, electronic and vocal experimentation, lyricism and extreme sounds: Eklectric Duo (23 July), John De Leo and the Grande Abarasse Orchestra (3 September), Fabrizio Bosso with Andrea Lucchi, Julian Oliver Mazzariello and Rimini Classica (27 September), ending with the duo Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld (22 November).
at 9.30pm
A great variety of offers in the chamber music cycle hosted at the Teatro Galli is very varied. It begins with the Italian Youth Guitar Orchestra (5 September) conducted by Pierluigi Colonna and featuring soprano Ilona Mataradze, and moves on to 16th-century polyphonic music by the Tallis Scholars (20 September) and the music of Johannes Brahms and Paul Hindemith (23 September) with clarinettist Claudio Conti and a string quartet. The great pianist Beatrice Rana returns to the Galli (2 October) as does the WunderkammerOrchestra conducted by Davide Damiani, who is also the vocal performer of the evening (18 October).
Two masters of the bow, the violinist Giuliano Carmignola and the cellist Mario Brunello will join the Solisti Aquilani (13 December) for a concert exploring the sound universe forged by generations of the Bach family. Finally, the theatre opens up to young talent (15 December) with a recital by the very young pianist Giacomo Menegardi, the latest winner of the prestigious Venice Prize.
at 9.00 pm or at 5.00 pm (on Sunday 15 december)
SCAT-ti JAZZ, the rediscovered photographic archive on show at the Galleria dell'Immagine.
On 1 June 1980, when jazz legend Chet Baker took the stage in Marecchia Park, Davide Minghini's camera lens was there to capture timeless moments and images. Those shots, together with photos never brought to light of memorabilia jazz concerts organised in Rimini and of musicians who passed through the Riviera's historic venues such as the Paradiso, the Embassy, the Altro Mondo and the Grand Hotel, now form a path of images in which to rediscover that Rimini of the ‘dolce vita’, loved by so many musicians who lived it and sang it, making it a compulsory stop on their international tours.
The European Song Festival in Riccione with Gorni Kramer, the concerts at the Paradiso with the American trumpeter Chet Baker, Romano Mussolini, Tony Scott and Cicci Santucci, up to the great concert in Piazza Cavour by Giorgio Gaslini, Henghel Gualdi, Caterina Valente, Giulio Capiozzo, Henry Salvador and Nicola Arigliano, are just some of the rediscovered characters that can be seen in the exhibition.
The idea for this exhibition, curated by Federico Tassani and Cristina Vitri - @Rimini Jazz Club, arose from research on Chet Baker and the Rimini he often frequented, which led to the rediscovery of his photograph, taken at a concert in Marecchia Park. Hence the idea of searching through the Minghini archive for photos of jazz concerts organised in Rimini and of musicians who have passed through the Riviera.
