QUEEN UNSEEN - Peter Hince: the unknown side of the iconic band that made the history of rock

from Monday 3 October to Thursday 30 November 2023
Castel Sismondo, Ala di Isotta, piazza Malatesta - Rimini historic centre
At the Fellini Museum the most important exhibition on the English band ever staged in Italy

Photographs, original memorabilia, videos and curiosities chronicle the life and career of the four members of Queen, and especially the legendary Freddie Mercury. These is what you can see at Castel Sismondo - Isotta Wing. An exhibition on 'THE QUEEN' as you've never seen them before. Away from the spotlight, the exhibition reveals some previously unseen and unknown sides of the iconic band that made the history of rock, told through the 'photographic' eye of someone who really got to know them, living in symbiosis with them for over 10 years: Peter Hince.
After the extraordinary success in Turin and Gallipoli, this exhibition event arrives in Rimini - the first and only stop in Emilia-Romagna and Marche on the European tour - a journey into the myth of Queen through the photographs of Peter Hince, the band's historic road crew and Freddie Mercury's personal assistant. Born in England in 1955, Hince has worked for great artists such as Mick Ronson, Lou Reed, Eno, Supertramp, George Benson and many others. He started taking photographs of Queen from 1976, when they had already reached the peak of their worldwide success, continuing until 1986, with an interlude of a further two years in which he would only portray Mercury. During his years with Queen, Peter cultivated a passion for photography, taking intimate and candid photos of the band in the recording studio, during the filming of video clips, tour rehearsals and, on rare occasions, even during live shows. He also takes some portraits of the band, which have become iconic.
In 'QUEEN UNSEEN - Peter Hince', in addition to Hince's images, the rich personal collection of memorabilia, clothing, accessories, musical instruments, records and documents, all strictly original, of Niccolò Chimenti, one of Europe's biggest collectors of the Queen universe, is also on display, including the microphone stand used by Freddie Mercury in his last concert, an autographed guitar by Brian May, an autographed cymbal and drum sticks by Roger Taylor, Freddie's legendary braces, one of the costumes used for the Radio Gaga video and much more.
The exhibition is completed by the screening of videos, most of which are extremely rare and now unavailable even on the web.
The exhibition in Rimini is organised by the Blu&Blu Network in Rome and Primafila Magazine, with the patronage of the Municipality of Rimini.

Teatro Amintore Galli: Ballade

Wednesday 6 December 2023
Teatro Amintore Galli, piazza Cavour, 22 - Rimini centro storico
Prose and Dance Theatre Season 2023/2024 - Dance performance

The itinerary dedicated to contemporary dance continues with Ballade by MM Contemporary Dance Company, directed by Michele Merola, which presents a new show composed of two new choreographies by Mauro Bigonzetti and by Enrico Morelli.
The pieces, interpreted by the MMCDC dancers, embark on a journey between different generations: Bigonzetti's 'Ballade', to music by Nick Cave, CCCP Leonard Cohen, Prince, Nina Simone, Frank Zappa, is a full-length portrait of the 1980s, a decade that has now lost its temporal boundaries to become a symbol of an era, while Morelli's 'Elegy', to music by Frédéric Chopin and Giuseppe Villarosa, is set in and tells of our current era, a period that never before has brought vertigo and bewilderment, but also the renewed hope of a new beginning.
Through an abstract narrative, the choreography gives life to a space of memory and feeling where man rediscovers his living and vulnerable body. A journey that leads us to discover pain, love, abandonment and rebirth.

OLTRE - The Sand and Metal Crib in Torre Pedrera

from Friday 8 December 2023 to Sunday 7 January 2024
Rimini - Torre Pedrera beach, bathing establishment 65, via Salvador
Rimini, the longest New Year's Eve in the world - Among sand sculptures and metal creations by Lu Lupan of Mutonia

The traditional Sand Crib is back on the beach in Torre Pedrera. This year it represents the Nativity, emphasising an important message of love and care for the planet. A nativity scene that aims to be a path of awareness towards love, going BEYOND consumerism, towards a sustainable future.
The Torre Pedrera Tourist Committee has decided to dedicate the seventeenth edition of the Sand Crib to the environment, and for the creation of the sculptures it has combined sand with recycled metal from Lu Lupan di Mutonia.
Every detail of the nativity scene has been carefully planned, from the design of the figures to the way they are positioned in the scene, in order to tell the story of the nativity in an evocative way, recreating a true path of awareness on the importance of sustainability. The sand, the main element of the nativity scene, is collected from the beaches without causing damage to the surrounding ecosystem, helping to safeguard natural resources, while metal can be renewed in an eco-sustainable way.
The crib, set up inside a covered structure, invites the public to reflect on the need to adopt sustainable behaviour in everyday life.

Venditti & De Gregori

Friday 15 December 2023
Rimini, Stadium, Piazzale Renzo Pasolini, 4
Grand finale in sports arenas

Crowning their long tour together that began on 18 June 2022 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Venditti & De Gregori will be performing in Italian palasport venues from November, for a Grand Finale that comes after more than a year of concerts that have united thousands of fans, recording a sell-out with more than 250,000 tickets sold.
A common and different story, that of the two artists, both capable of making their mark on Italian songwriting and music. Two different personalities, but similar. Two artistic statures, each with their own poetics. Venditti & De Gregori began collaborating in their early twenties during a trip to Hungary and began writing their first songs together, leading to their joint recording debut with 'Theorius Campus' (1972), where Antonello recorded 'Roma Capoccia', an immediate great success, and Francesco 'Signora Aquilone'. A record that sanctioned for both of them the beginning of their artistic journey. After their debut, however, their careers diverged until this memorable tour that has seen them travel the whole of Italy together and will now end in the palasport, the last opportunity to see the two artists who have written the soundtrack of entire generations on the same stage.
The tour, which stops in Rimini on 15 December, sees the two artists perform with a single band that creates an extraordinary sound, bringing together musicians who have been collaborating separately with the two artists for years: Alessandro Canini (drums), Danilo Cherni (keyboards), Carlo Gaudiello (piano), Primiano Di Biase (hammond), Fabio Pignatelli (bass), Amedeo Bianchi (sax), Paolo Giovenchi (guitars), Alessandro Valle (pedal steel guitar and mandolin). Also on stage are Roberta Palmigiani on violin and choristers Laura Ugolini and Laura Marafioti.
Musical coordination is by Guido Guglielminetti and Alessandro Canini.
Tickets available in advance from 4 p.m. on Monday 21 August, in the usual circuits.

Rimini, stage finish for Tour de France 2024

29 June 2024
Rimini
Rimini among the four cities in Emilia Romagna involved in the Grand Départ of the Tour de France 2024

In 2024, Tour de France, the most important cycling competition in the world and one of the top three international sporting events, will start from Italy and Rimini will be the first of the finishing stages on the peninsula. In fact, Emilia-Romagna will be the protagonist of the 2024 edition of the Tour, with the three stages Florence-Rimini, Cesenatico-Bologna, and Piacenza-Turin. In all, over 600 kilometres will be running in Italy, from Piazzale Michelangelo, the heart of Florence, to Turin, the first capital of Italy, crossing Emilia-Romagna and the Via Emilia, the ancient consular road that runs through the region from Rimini to Piacenza. A tribute to Italy in the footsteps of the myth of Bartali, Pantani and Coppi, on the centenary of the first Italian winner of the Tour in 1924 with Ottavio Bottecchia, the first Italian to wear the yellow jersey.
On 29 June, the yellow caravan will set off from Florence, to cover 205 km, passing through the Apennines, Valmarecchia upto San Marino and reach the finish line by the sea in Rimini. The race will continue with the other two Italian stages, Cesenatico-Bologna on 30 June and Piacenza-Turin the following day.
An extraordinary sporting event that is expected to have over 730,000 spectators only in Emilia-Romagna and television coverage, much of it live, in 200 countries, representing the third most-watched sporting event in the world.
Many will be the initiatives that will be carried out in the single territories, collateral to the Tour: from the attractiveness of the territories themselves to the promotion of cycling and mobility on two wheels up to the involvement of young people and schools.
