On Wednesday 27 September, Rimini's candidacy dossier for Capital of Culture 2026 will be officially submitted. A moment that will be sealed with a formal ceremony at the Galli Theatre (6 p.m.), followed by a big party in the square, with a marathon of concerts that will see musicians, bands, and artists from Rimini and Romagna take turns on stage, from 7.30 p.m. to midnight in Piazza Cavour, Piazza Malatesta / Piazza dei Sogni, and Arena Francesca da Rimini.
The music will also invade the streets and the shops, restaurants, bars and boutiques in the historic centre will remain open for a special end-of-summer edition of Rimini Shopping Night.
Rimini's Museums will also take part in the festivities, with an extra opening with free admission from 7.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. Extraordinary guided tours, also free of charge, will be given to explore the city's treasures: Domus del Chirurgo, Teatro Amintore Galli, archaeological area of the Theatre (at 8.30 p.m. - 9.15 p.m. - 10.00 p.m.), Fellini Museum, Gambalunga Library - Ancient Rooms (at 8.00 p.m. - 9.15 p.m. - 10.00 p.m.). Visits are free of charge with mandatory booking, subject to availability.
Also on the programme are the theatrical guided tours proposed by InsoliTouRimini, with a free double visit to the city (at 4.30 pm and 8.30 pm, mandatory booking at 339 2419406).
In addition to the sounds, voices and dances of the many musicians and dancers who will take part in the festival, Piazza Cavour and Piazza Malatesta will also be filled with the flavours of local food and wine products.
Another appointment is scheduled for Monday 9 October, with Rimini participating, together with 160 other Italian theatres, in Marco Paolini's project dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Vajont landslide.
