“Al Meni”, the circus-market of flavours captained by Massimo Bottura, appears on the list of candidates for the best event of the prestigious 'World Restaurant Awards' and announces the dates of the next edition: 22nd and 23rd June 2019 in Rimini.
The first edition of the 'World Restaurant Awards' will be held on 18 February in Paris with a grand ceremony.
“Al Meni” - or in the Romagna dialect 'the hands', from the title of a poem by Tonino Guerra -, is on the list of the 16 best events of the year around the globe (https: // restaurantawards.world/event-year-longlist), selected by the jury along with internationally renowned events such as 'Mad' in Copenhagen, 'Parabere forum' in Oslo or 'Ein prosit' in Malborghetto. It is the only other Italian event.
For two days the “Al Meni, the Circo 8 e ½ dei sapori” will be the beating heart of the most lively and original food and wine festival of the peninsula, led by the world's number one chef, Massimo Bottura.
Inside the circus you can taste a slice of the world with many show cooking held by 12 chefs from Emilia Romagna together with 12 of the most interesting young chefs in the world who will offer the public starred dishes at street food prices.
Around the circus, special gourmet street food points with the best ingredients from Emilia Romagna and a starred ice-cream parlour. On the seafront, between the Circus and the port, a real food market of excellence: a journey of taste among small and large agricultural producers, where you can taste and buy the best products from Emilia Romagna, the only territory in Europe with 44 PDO and PGI products.
In front of the Circus, artisans and designers will reinterpret the theme of food to show their creations marked by the "handmade" brand; workshops, meetings with experts and guided tastings in Slow Food points will complete the event.
