The Sand Crib is back on the public beach at Marina Centro, in the splendid setting of the winter sea, as part of the Ice Village.
The 2024-25 edition of the Artistic Sand Crib promises to be the largest and most imposing ever. It occupies an  area of 500 square metres on the public beach in Piazzale Boscovich, inside a covered marquee. It consists of more than 20 artistic groups made up of sculptures varying in size from 1.5 metres to over 5 metres in height that will be integrated into a traditional Christmas setting.
Six sand sculptors from different European countries have modelled the sand with water to create the giant works that compose the Nativity with shepherds, animals and village scenes with artisans and characters giving life to scenic sculptural groups set in the Bethlehem of Judea year zero.
A work that was previewed as early on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November in ‘live’ with the sand artists at work showing the unique spectacle of the ‘magic of sand’ taking shape.
Coinciding with the inauguration of the Crib, on Saturday 30 November at 11am, in Piazzale Boscovich, the large Christmas Ice Village will also kick off, including the craft market, the Happy Circus with its multicoloured marquee and children's shows, and the large indoor ice skating rink for doing pirouettes on ice.
