Sand Crib in Marina Centro

Rimini, the world's longest New Year's Eve - When tradition becomes art -

8 december 2023 - 7 January 2024 with a Preview on 2 and 3 December
Religious festivals

The Sand Crib is back on the public beach at Marina Centro, in the splendid setting of the winter sea, as part of the Ice Village.
An indoor structure welcomes the Nativity scene, which this year draws on the classic Neapolitan tradition with giant sand sculptures and sculptural groups up to 3.5 metres high, skilfully created by an international team of sand artists.
The Nativity depicts daily life at the time of Jesus' birth, with many characters, artisans and shopkeepers, living in the squares and streets full of  joyful people waiting for the good news and bringing a message of Love, Serenity and Joy, so important in these difficult times..
The inauguration is scheduled for Friday 8 December, but the crib can also be visited on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December, when the sand artists can be admired at work.
The area also hosts a colourful and lively craft market with handmade Christmas products and a bar area, next to the ice rink.
