Second forum of the Roman city, piazza Cavour represents Rimini's monumental centre.
You can find shops and cafés on one side, and the most important buildings in the city on the other: Palazzo Garampi (seat of Rimini Municipality), Palazzo dell'Arengo (political  expression of Rimini in the Middle Ages), Palazzo del Podestà.
The beautiful neoclassical City Theatre stands at the end of the square; its opening by Giuseppe Verdi dates back to 1857.
In the middle of the square Paolo V's statue and the Fountain "della Pigna".
