Fishermen and DJs join forces to serve up music & small sardines on their “decks”: the basic ingredients of the great new summer event organized by Rimini.
The infectious party atmosphere of the Notte Rosa will already be felt on the days leading up it: on Saturday 30th June, at the harbour, the first “Molo Street Parade” will be staged from sunset to midnight. A kilometre of harbourside will be transformed into Italy’s largest most suggestive open-air venue: the “music” widens its horizons and looks out to sea.
Ten fishing boats moored 100 metres apart will be transformed into large floating “consoles”, with their bridges hosting 50 nationally and internationally famous deejays who, on their live sets, will manipulate sounds, transforming them and creating fusions in a search for endless possible combinations, alternating in performances featuring a wide range of music genres.
A floating melting pot of sonic styles: from electronic to rock, pop to traditional Italian ballroom music, deep house to indie, rock to afro, passing through dubstep, chill out and much more.
On land, the key player will be fish, the king of local cuisine. From Rimini’s 18th century lighthouse to the tip of the pier, special tables will be set where it will be possible to taste the typical dishes of local seafood tradition, based on small sardines and chicory, skilfully prepared by Rimini fishermen’s cooperatives. Sixty arzdore (Romagna housewives expert in preparing local delicacies) will serve 1,000 kilos of small sardines caught, cleaned and grilled by the fishermen of the Linea Azzurra Consortium.
The natural setting for the event is one of Rimini’s most suggestive locations, the port’s pier, Rimini folk’s favourite destination for a walk, docking point for the fishing boats, a place that catches everybody’s imagination, was immortalized by Fellini, with his layabouts who lazily philosophized there, and where he imagined the nocturnal apparition of the transatlantic liner Rex.
Hotel packages will be available on the occasion of the busy program of events under the banner of music, which, from the first Molo Street Parade on June 30th will run to the Notte Rosa weekend: a program with great artists at national and international level at unique unrepeatable events.
