Meeting for friendship among peoples is a summer festival of culture, music, sport, entertainment and meetings on topics of interest. It is the most attended in the world and takes place every year in the second half of August.

In the last decades, this meeting has tackled today's crucial topics- culture, science, politics and economics- through an open and free dialogue with the most interesting and important international figures.

The program is full of exhibitions, lectures, shows, sport and fun.

The theme of the 37th edition is: 'You are a good for me' meaning that man’s “I” is first and foremost a history made up of faces, relationships and circumstances that play out over the course of time.

Through exhibitions, performances, roundtables and witnesses, the 2016 Meeting in its variety of languages will tell stories of integration and of forgiveness, it will focus on the great emergencies we face today, and will give the protagonists of culture and expression the chance to speak. It will confront the challenges of technology of innovation, attempt to look at work and economy without moralistic demonizing, and it will bring together cross sections of history gone by.

The Meeting speaks to the heart of every contemporary man in a language accessible to all, which marks the beginning of new relations and an ongoing story.

The event will not only be ground of conferences and debates, but also a music and dance stage, theater, and cinema from different countries and cultures, focusing from Shakespeare to Manzoni, from tango to rock'n'roll.

An all-female cast for the opening night, on Friday, August 19th, with the show "Un solo canto" - One single Song. Tosca, Italian singer and actress, presents a tribute to the song, in all its infinite variations, along with the Lebanese soprano Tania Kassis and the young Syrian performer Mirna Kassis. The event, organized in collaboration with the Malatesta Music Festival, begins at 9:45pm in the Arena Shows D3 of Rimini Fiera. The unedited production of "One single Song" is just the first in a series of exclusive events: such as the first Italian production of "Thomas More", 400 years after Shakespeare's death (Sunday 21 August and Monday 22 August, Teatro Novelli), or the performance "Simply Tango" (Monday, August 22, UnipolsaiArena D3).

The program also includes conferences, exhibitions, shows, sporting events and initiatives for children in the Children Village, where every day toddlers and children from ages 1 to 12 can sing, dance and play in the space dedicated to children.
