Eleventh edition of a literature festival dedicated to an audience of adolescents and ‘young adults’. Three days of meetings with the best-loved Italian and foreign authors as well as workshops and performances. Sea of Books is an event full of cultural entertainment, a place for all young people who love books and reading and want to meet peers who share their enthusiasm.
The event will be opened by Cecilia Strada, an italian writer in defense of human rights in war zones, who will talk about her experience.
Among the evening events, the party celebrating the 20 years from the Italian publication of theHarry Potter saga: sets and themed activities will welcome fans to celebrate the saga for the most beloved magician (party at Sismondo Castle from 9pm on Friday evening. Cost 3 €).
In the program of the festival there will be a tribute to the English writer Siobhan Dowd, author of novels on social rights.
Many others will be the national and international guests taking part in the event: Andrea Marcolongo, Giuseppe Catozzella, Chiara Carminati, Giorgio Scaramuzzo, the author of the fantasy saga Artemis Fowl Eoin Colfer, the Spanish Jordi SierraI Fabra, MT Anderson, the Australian author Cath Crowley and Hamid Sulaiman, cartoonist who will talk about his country of origin, Syria.
In 2018 the festival has has collaborated with the Cinema Fulgor, the historical cinema linked to the figure of Federico Fellini which has reopened this year after the restoration. In this marvelous setting numerous program events will take place.
On Thursday, June 14, as a preview, it is on schedule the presentation of the book 'We Like to Read!' by the group of young volunteers from Mare di Libri (City Musuenm at 6pm).
