Crossroads Jazz e Altro in Emilia Romagna is an itinerant festival that takes place throughout the Emilia Romagna region, and is one of the major European initiatives in this field. The 2024 edition takes place from 3 March to 13 July, with more than 60 concerts distributed in over twenty municipalities throughout the territory.
The latest appointment of the 25th edition of the Festival in Rimini is with Matteo Mancuso, a young guitarist from Palermo (class of 1996), whose online video solo boasts over ten million views.
Impressive for his speed and performing precision, he masters both classical and electric guitar, on which he has developed a personal fingerstyle technique, i.e. without a plectrum. Stylistically, he has no preconceptions: jazz, rock, fusion, manouche...
The trio with Riccardo Oliva and Gianluca Pellerito can be heard on some tracks of Mancuso's first solo album, The Journey (2023), which underlines his multifaceted musical nature: Matteo absorbs, interprets and elaborates on what he is most passionate about.
