Palazzo Gambalunga, situated in the street with the same name, is home to the civic library where priceless codices are kept.
This was the family palace of Alessandro Gambalunga, a generous patron and literature enthusiast who left the palace to the City of Rimini in 1617.
The Gambalunga Library today boasts 1350 codices, which include two autographs by Basinio da Parma, the De Civitate Dei written for Pandolfo Malatesta, and the so-called 'gradenighiano' from Dante's Divine Comedy.
