The Multimedia Archaeological Museum of the Galli Theater, is one of the nine spaces of the rebuilt Rimini theater where history and modernity intersect in a constant relationship.
The archaeological area was discovered during excavations for the reconstruction of the theater exactly under the stalls.

The museum itinerary traces the historical evolution of the city from the founding of Ariminum to late antiquity, through the architectural remains, including mosaics, found here during the long and complex restoration campaign. The museum is equipped with multimedia devices that make scientific dissemination immediate and contemporary.
The itinerary is divided into four spaces: the first tells the story of Rimini through a touch screen panel with images that outline the stratification of the city, from the birth of the colony, around 220 BC, passing through the republican and imperial period of ancient Rome, in a dialogue with the Surgeons' house in the City Museum; then the post-fall period of the Roman Empire up to the year 1000 - with the Paleochristian Basilica and some connections with the Basilica of Santa Colomba. After the medieval period and the Malatesta family, we will arrive in 19th-century Rimini, to which the second 'island' is dedicated. A path with a sequence of three rooms which includes the multimedia narration of Rimini of that era, the history of Italian theater, the architecture of Rimini's theater, the life and music of M. Giuseppe Verdi to whom an immersive room is dedicated and where visitors can listen to his most famous melodies.
Finally, the actual archaeological area, exactly under the theater pit, equipped with a large platform, where you can admire the surface of the archaeological excavation.

Additional notes:

At the moment the new multimedia museum can be visited only on special occasions.
