Strawberry Fields Forever, one of the most beautiful songs by The Beatles, written by John Lennon, was released exactly 50 years ago, in 1967. The song has been selected to be sung by all participants in the ‘Strawberry Day’, an event held in Piazza Cavour, the heart of Rimini historic centre. It is an initiative by MEI, Meeting degli Indipendenti, and Beatlesiani d’Italia, which will conclude of the 34th edition of the International Expo, Macfrut, in Rimini, which this year has the strawberry as main theme and symbol, a tribute to all farmers of this wonderful fruit.
Some of the best Italian cover bands of Beatles will perform the best songs by the Fab Four on the large stage set up in Piazza Cavour.
The square will be enriched with exhibitions of gadgets and vintage items together with stands where strawberry is proposed in different ways, such as ice cream and other sweets, the strawberry as ingredient in food and with wine.
The Beatles cover bands will be leaded by the legendary band Rangzen from Rimini, together with Abbey Road, Beat Brothers, BeatleSmania, Beatops, Beatzone, Cover Garden, MenLove  Plastic Ono Band, Two Of Us, MenLove, 4 Fabs, Ticket to Beat and many other groups from all over Italy.
Young artists and bands will be involved in a contest organized by MEI together with Beatlesiani d’Italia to discover emerging young people able to perform The Beatles.
