In Rimini on 10 October, during the second edition of La Settima Arte Film Festival, the conference "Fellini and the sacred - Childhood of the world" will be held at the Museum of the city and the event "Fellini and the sacred" will take place at Galli Theater at 9pm.
The conference includes two sessions, the first in Rimini on 10 October (City Museum) and the other in Rome on 24 October (Salesian Pontifical University).
The title of the Rimini session is 'Childhood of the world'.
Speakers: prof. Davide Bagnaresi, University of Bologna - Rimini Polo, prof. Marco Tibaldi Higher Institute of Religious Sciences - Bologna, prof. Gianfranco Miro Gori Film critic, prof. Renato Butera Salesian Pontifical University - Rome.
City Museum 4.00 pm. At 9 pm, appointment at the Galli Theater with 'Fellini and the Sacred, dialogue, testimonies and music'. Host: Fabio Falzone, TV2000 Journalist.Speakers: the master Pupi Avati director and writer, Marco Tibaldi theologian, Mauro Camattari director.Arias inspired by the music of Nino Rota will be performed by Federico Mecozzi.
The Docufilm “I need to believe”, produced by the Department of Social Communication Sciences of the Pontifical Salesian University - Rome, will be screened.
From Saturday 3 October, the exhibition 'I need to believe' will also be open to the public, a reinterpretation of the religious imagination in Fellini's films with its contradictions and provocations: the pebble of the madman (La strada); the pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Divino Amore (The nights of Cabiria); the statue of Christ flying over Rome (La dolce vita); the religious college and the meeting with the cardinal (8 1/2); the recitation of the martyrdom of the Saint (Juliet of the spirits); the arrival of the Rex (Amarcord); the parade of ecclesiastical clothes (Rome) and more sequences from Lo sceicco bianco, Il Bidone, I Clown, Casanova, La città delle Donne, La voce della Luna, ... The exhibition, which opens on October 3 at 10.30am, will be on display at the Museum of the City of Rimini, via L. Tonini (ground floor), until 17 October 2020. Then it will then be transferred to Rome at the Salesian Pontifical University (piazza dell'Ateneo Salesiano, 1) from 23 October to 15 November 2020.
