A week of appointments in various places in the historic center (Teatro degli Atti, Cinema Fulgor e Tiberio, Cineteca Rimini, Museo della Città and Cinemino), with the screenings of all the short films finalists in the 9 sections.
On the one hand, the international short film competition, with its 11 sections, divided by genre, length, origin and this year also by theme; an appointment that is confirmed as one of the most followed by authors from all over the world, with 200 films selected from 70 countries out of a total of over 1,400. On the other, the actual Festival that accompanies it with a full calendar of events.
First edition of the "Burdlaz Prize" , reserved for young directors who have been inspired by Federico Fellini's work for their first work; the first to receive this award is Marco Chiappetta with his film "Santa Lucia".
The bond with the Maestro's is also confirmed with the "A Felliniano in the world" Award, for artists who have had the opportunity to collaborate with Fellini. This year the award goes to Nicola Piovani.
Alongside the awards, the 2022 edition of Amarcort dedicates special days and appointments to some topics. Neurodivergence, with the screening of the documentary "Filippo's thousand gates", together with the director Adamo Antonacci, the producer Alessandro Salaorni and the protagonist Filippo Zoi, a 25-year-old autistic with a passion for drawing and gates.
On November 25, the international day against violence against women, Amarcort wants to tell the story of the female figure, but not the weak or victimized woman, rather the courageous, tenacious, enterprising, strong woman. The title of the day, "No one can limit us" is inspired by a video spot by Rimini-born Giorgia Ubaldi (also author of the drawing and video theme song of this edition of the Festival), already winner of a competition organized by the Province of Rimini in 2021. On the agenda, as well as a selection of short films by female directors from the Beirut Women International Film Festival, a meeting with Aunt Caterina, a taxi driver from Florence who, after having known the suffering and pain of loss due to illness, makes her taxi available for free to children and their families , who come from all over Italy and abroad to the Meyer pediatric hospital in Florence. Another meeting is with Peter Marcias, author of three documentaries dedicated to three strong women (Piera Degli Esposti, Liliana Cavani, Nilde Iotti) and screening of the film "Nilde Iotti - Il tempo delle donne"
November 26 is also an important date: Charles M. Schulz, the father of Peanuts, was born exactly one hundred years ago. Amarcort pays tribute to the great artist with the appointment "The Magic of Peanuts", divided into various moments: from the opening concert to the talk by Federico Fiecconi, cartoon historian and critic who has repeatedly met and interviewed Schulz. All embellished by video contributions of the meeting between Fellini and Schulz curated by Vincenzo Mollica, greetings from Jeannie Schulz, widow of the artist and president of the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California; finally, do not miss the magic show with the Rimini magician Sebastiano Visini, known as Sbard.
