Freedom on two wheels

For all bicycle enthusiasts, Rimini has around 30 kilometres of cycle paths that connect the coast with the city centre providing pleasant itineraries through lush green parks. Below are three routes we recommend for visitors who want to take a relaxing ride to discover the city (you will find maps of the 13 cycle paths in the Municipality of Rimini at IAT tourist offices tel. 0541.51331).

Depart on the sea front near Piazzale Kennedy and ride as far as Ausa Park through lush greenery. Once across Via Roma (at this point it is possible to turn to the right towards the old city walls where the cycle path runs alongside the Roman Amphitheatre and, crossing a break in the city walls, takes you to the very heart of the old town near to the cathedral), enter Cervi Park where it is possible to admire the old walls and the Arch of Augustus. Continue through the park as far as Via della Fiera and then ride on to Cava Lake, which is in a huge park close to Via Euterpe where it is possible to do some physical activity or follow several 'life trails'.
If you prefer panoramic views of the sea, we recommend the cycle path that runs from Rimini canal port along the coast as far as Miramare.
A cycle ride through Rimini’s green heart (around 20 kilometres, recommended for mountain bikes) starts in Rivabella (near the Marecchia River deviator) and once over the cycle-pedestrian wooden bridge that crosses the river, meets XXV Aprile Park that leads to Tiberius Bridge. From here, the cycle path runs along the old channel of the Marecchia River as far as Villa Verucchio, offering splendid fluvial panoramic views. Once you leave the state road it is possible to climb as far as Coriano and from there, take one of the many cycle routes that lead towards the spectacular landscape of the Conca Valley.
