The magic of Christmas is also expressed through its symbols and the Nativity scene is perhaps the most representative. Rimini perpetuates its Christmas tradition by enriching the city with many celebrations of the nativity, be they made by sand and sea water, by mobile mechanisms or many costume celebrants. Let yourself be fascinated by the magic of Christmas in Rimini:

Sand Nativity at Marina Centro
Tribute to Fellini for the centenary of the birth
The nativity scene of Marina Centro will focus on the major masterpieces of Fellini. Using only sand and water the sand artists, coming from all over Europe, will alternate to give harmony and beauty to an unusual Nativity. The sculptures will be exhibited indoors on an area of ​​over 700 square meters. Also a craft market with hand-made objects.
Monday to Friday 2,30pm –6,30pm, morning by reservation only for groups and / or school groups. Holidays and pre-holidays 9.30am - 7.00pm. From 22 December 2019 to 6 January 9.30am - 7.00 (continued). Entrance fee: 2 euros

Sand Nativity in Torre Pedrera
Also this year, on the beach of Torre Pedrera, splendid sand sculptures are created thanks to the work of the sand artists, directed and coordinated by the Torre Pedrera Tourist Committee. At its thirteenth edition, this year the sculptures made of sand and water will pay tribute to the maritime origins of Rimini, recreating a nativity among the industrious activities of fishing. Also central will be the figure of Carla Ronci, 50 years after her death and now awaiting for beatification. Next to the Nativity scene the typical Christmas markets and, during the holidays, bingo and entertainment for children.
Everyday from 9.15am to 12.45am and from 2.30pm to 5.45pm.
Extraordinary openings  during the holidays. Free admission.

The handmade Nativity scene by Alberto Minelli
Mr. Alberto Minelli opens his home to those wishing to visit the complexity of his mechanical Nativities. 3 different installations, a large and entirely handmade mechanical Nativity scene, accompanied this year by two new mechanical creations that celebrate Christmas.

Miramare Living Nativity - XVII edition
"And the angel departed from her." Is the title of the 2019 edition of Miramare's living Nativity scene. The performance takes place with the participation of students, parents and teachers of the Comprehensive Miramare Institute and the "Don Domenico Masi" kindergarten, in collaboration with the "Lupetti" scout group and the Miramare parish. This year the event has the subtitle "The mystery of the Incarnation narrated by Mary": the most incredible announcement in history .

Living Nativity scene in the historic center
The Living Nativity is a gesture of memory that for years the schools managed by the Karis Foundation have been offering to the whole city and its guests. At 4.30pm there will be the opening of the living paintings at the Arco d’Augusto, while at 5.00pm the sacred representation will begin. Also this year, the event is animated by the students of the Karis Foundation Schools, who, together with their teachers and family, will commemorate the birth of Jesus.

Living Nativity in  Borgo Sant'Andrea
Over 150 extras for the living Nativity in Borgo Sant'Andrea with the partecipation of children and adults from the neighborhood. This year's title and theme of representation is "God chooses our fragility". The performance takes place in the Piazza Mazzini at 3pm.

A Nativity Scene for the City

During the Christmas festivities the bridge of the Resistance will be enriched by the presence of the Luminous Nativity by Salvatore Federici and the polychrome wooden Nativity of the " Amici del Mare". On the day of the Epiphany the celebrations will culminate with the Sacred Representation of the Nativity and the naval procession with the Magi who, will bring the gifts to the boat of the Baby Jesus. The event, accompanied by songs and luminous fountains, is created by the Ponte dei Miracoli Association in collaboration with the Rimini Marine Association. At the end of the procession, the Parish of San Giuseppe al Porto will offer mulled wine and donut. 4:30pm

Nativity Scene in Rimini darsena (dock)
On Sunday 22 December, at the G jetty, inauguration of the Nativity Scene in Rimini Darsena, set up on the historic boats of 'Vele al Terzo Rimini', in memory of TETE, Stefano Venturini. Exhibition of postcards from Fellini's films and the corner of the Wish Bottle, where visitors can leave their wish for the new year. The party starts at 5pm with the underwater torchlight procession. The lighting and the blessing of the Nativity Scene will follow at 5.30pm. At 6.00pm luminous Santa Clauses arrive by jet-ski to distribute the gifts to all the children. At 6.30pm panettone, sweets and hot chocolate for everyone. In case of bad weather, the party is postponed to Monday 23 December at the same time. It is possible to visit the Nativity Scene until 6 January 2020.
