Domus in Fabula: in the City Museum and the domus, Surgeon's House,
Friday 3rd, saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2015
Exhibitions
On the occasion of the weekend Notte Rosa, the Pink Night, Rimini invites to visit the little Pompeii in the city centre, the Surgeon's house, which has become famous in the world owing to its unique archaeological finds - one of the richest surgical and pharmaceutical equipment of the ancient times - now kept in the nearby City Museum. In addition to the archaeological section in the museum, you can admire the works of the Middle Ages and Renaissance by important painters such as the famous Pietà by Bellini and art works by Agostino Di Duccio, Ghirlandaio, Cagnacci and Guercino. The creativity of the '900 has one dedicated to René Gruau, the myth of the graphic world, and a special space where is hosted the "Libro dei Sogni", the "Book of Dreams", by Federico Fellini.
Domus in Fabula: guided tours are available to the archaeological site (included in the entrance fee), accompanied by one of the assistents of "Eutyches", the surgeon, to let even children discover the hidden spaces of the Domus and listen to anecdotes of the life of the doctor who lived there. Booking is required and the guided tours are available in English language on request 24 h before (in other languages 2 days before).
