From June 8th to 10th Rimini will open a suggestive window on the world with the second edition of ‘Festa del Viaggio – The Travel Festival’, entirely dedicated to travel, with debates, testimonies, shows, music, films and food from all the continents.
An event with more than 60 meetings and over 100 guests, among whom, directly from Australia to Rimini, Tony Wheeler, the legendary founder of Lonely Planet publishing house, who will tell us about his editorial adventure.
There will be a number of incredible guests from around the world: Syrian musician Omar Souleyman, Boban Marković Orkestar of Serbia with a famous brass Balkanic band, the Sham Trio of Damascus, journalist James Nestor and writer Ilija Trojanow, the writers Paolo Giordano and Niccolò Ammaniti and then hikers, explorers, photographers, cartographers, travel writers, bloggers and influencers who have made a life of travelling – in case you need some inspiration for your own full-time travel plans.
The theme of this second edition is " Al di là del mare - Beyond the Sea", an invitation to take off, to navigate the unknown and reflect on what is happening around and far from us.
The festival is also a tribute to Rimini and its dual identity: as tourist capital and as Roman and Renaissance city, with over 22 centuries of history.
For those who are looking for an even more engaging experience, there are the UlisseFest workshops: photography and travel writing workshops to discover the techniques to intensify the travel experience and to capture every single moment.
The event is organized by EDT, the Italian publisher of Lonely Planet, in collaboration with the Municipality of Rimini.
The program will be available from next May 22nd
