Rimini Rediscovered. Images from the 1950s in unpublished shots by Amedeo Montemaggi

Photo exhibition at the Image Gallery

From Saturday 21 January to Sunday 12 March 2023
Exhibitions

Photographic exhibition celebrating the centenary of the birth of Amedeo Montemaggi (1923-2023), with unpublished images from the archive of this important protagonist of the city's culture.
Known as a journalist, founder of the Rimini editorial staff of Resto del Carlino in the 1950s, popularizer of the artistic beauties of Rimini and finally a historian with a passion for the events of the Gothic Line, his photographic activity was so far completely unknown, documented by the recent discovery in his home of over 40,000 negatives.
These are visual testimonies of the reconstruction of Rimini's society and landscapes, with the first years of the tourist boom, social events, fashion and personalities of that era in which the foundations of contemporary Rimini were laid.
Inauguration of the exhibition on Saturday 21 January at 5.00pm
