Time: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The only festival in Italy made by teenagers for teenagers, in its 18th edition.
An event for all girls and boys who love books and reading and who want to share their passions with their peers.
The festival is an opportunity to meet and dialogue with Italian writers and international guests, through different types of events: presentations of freshly printed books, monographs linked to the figures of the most influential authors, debates that offer the opportunity to compare and exchange views with other young people and experts, film screenings, readings, workshops, special events and shows.
The scheduled events take place in the setting offered by the most important places in the historic city centre of Rimini, which has always been the backdrop for this unmissable event for young readers from all over Italy.
Mare di libri is not only a festival designed for teenagers, but the events are conceived, organised and managed entirely by the festival's volunteer girls and boys.
Of all the events, the most classic format is the meeting with the author. Within the programme there will be the presentation of the Mare di Libri Prize to the best teen novel of the previous year, an award given by a jury of 10 strong young readers.
This year the first 3 foreign guests announced are: Anthony Mcgowan, winner of the Carnegie Medal in 2020 with Lark. Il volo dell'allodola (Italian ed. edited by Rizzoli); Deborah Ellis, bestselling author of Sotto il burqa (Italian ed. edited by Rizzoli), winner of the Governor General's Award; Hope Larson, American cartoonist and illustrator, winner of the Eisner Award with her adaptation of 'Nelle pieghe del tempo'.
