St. Joseph bonefire in Viserba

Fogheraccia organized by the Tourist Committee of Viserba

On the occasion of Saint Joseph's feast, fathers day, the tourist committee of Viserba presents a ‘fogheraccia’, a traditional bonfire on the beach, symbol of the end of a cold winter and of the arrival of spring.
A show especially for children, who have fun in front of the fire, in which the last moments of the past winter are "burned".
For the occasion, Viserba become animated from 7.30pm with food stands and music on the Pascoli square.
In case of bad weather, the event is postponed to Friday 24 March.

Rimini's old town center hosts the 22nd edition of "Color Coriandolo".
Two days of celebration in the historic center, which becomes an open-air arena for shows and music, with artists, jugglers, musicians, acrobats, pyrotechnic effects.Games, dances, colors, parades, masks, jokes and fun, these are the ingredients to celebrate Carnival in the streets and have fun for a widespread entertainment in the historic centre of Rimini.
On Sunday 11 February the city comes alive with  jugglers, dancers, musicians and with the Brass Band, six colorful musicians who move among the notes of their brass instruments, spreading a contagious joy. The Africa Acrobats wil perform human pyramids, aerial evolutions, and breathtaking acrobatic numbers offered with the vitality of African dance and the freshness of contemporary circus. An enthralling show of high visual impact, which unleashes energy and leaves the audience with bated breath until the last vault.
Tuesday 13 February, Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday, is celebrated with an evocative performance by artists with spectacular costumes, magical creatures coming from the moon. Stilt-walkers, acrobats and dancers move among the participants, creating luminous living pictures. Their dance, like a magical ritual, allows young and old to detach themselves from the ground and be transported, to the notes of enchanting melodies, into a dreamlike and mysterious dimension. The skill of the performers and the astonishing light effects provide an unmissable show. 
To accompany the parades of masks and the games, Radio Bruno, protagonist of the musical animation of the day.
In both days children and parents will be able to embark on a fascinating voyage around the world, discovering the most diverse and folkloristic dances: from the overwhelming rhythm of the samba, to the stirring movements of belly dancing, from the charm of the tango to the wildest hip pop, from Irish dances to the melodies of the most popular musicals. 
From 9 January to 14 February, and for the entire Carnival period, the enchanting French merry-go-round returns to Piazza Cavour with its magical wheel made of lights, wooden horses and carriages of yesteryear. An old-fashioned amusement, which still makes children and adults dream, as they relive their childhood memories.

Vele al Terzo Rimini, the past and present of our seafaring

Seafaring festival

Vele al Terzo Rimini, a Rimini Social Promotion Association, part of the board of the "Mariegola delle Vele al Terzo and the Working Boats of Romagna" Association, proposes gatherings of historic boats from all the ports of Romagna. At the port of Rimini the Historic Boats with their colorful "Sails in the Wind" create a typical scenario of the Riviera Romagnola. A show in which the traditional uses and customs of the Ancient Romagnola Seafaring come to life. A re-evocative cultural event addressed to all.It is possible to take free guided tours on the moored boats, where the crews tell the story and characteristics of the historic boats of Romagna. There is also an exhibition of historical fishing equipment organized in collaboration with the E'Scaion Museum. In case of bad weather, the event is postponed to the following day, Sunday 11 June.

On 15 March the Legio XIII Gemina commemorates the conspiracy against Gaius Julius Caesar

Gaius Julius Caesar was assassinated on 15 March of 44 B.C.
This date is historically known as "the Ides of March".
Wednesday 15 March 2023 Rimini wants to commemorate the historic event in the place where tradition tells that Caesar had harangued the legionaries of the XIII Gemina Legion after the passage of the Rubicone river.
The ceremony includes the deposition, by the "legionaries", of a laurel crown at the foot of the 'Suggestum' located in Piazza Tre Martiri, the place where more than two thousand years ago Julius Caesar pronounced the famous phrase "ALEA IACTA EST".

Carnival Together at Grotta Rossa

Parade of Carnival masks and floats at the parish of the Resurrection

A cheerful Sunday for everyone with a parade of Carnival masks and floats, distribution of sweets and entertainment for the children.
The party begins at 2.00pm, in the church square, with a singing performance by the 'Resurrection' kindergarten, followed by a parade of masks and floats. All masked children can get on a train. The animation of the Matadors and Stella's DJ accompany the parade, which ends around 4.30pm in the church square with the presentation ceremony and the delivery of attendance certificates to all the masked groups.
The party continues in the parish hall with the show of the Clown Bretella, at 5.30pm. The lottery follows at 5.30pm. The proceeds will go to the Parish to support families in need.
In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to Sunday 19 February.
