An exhibition on the foreshore to pay homage to the character of Mafalda, on the occasion of the 40th edition of Cartoon Club.
A selection of over 200 strips and illustrations placed on 100 boards will fill the Rimini summer with humour and lightness, also a rare opportunity to combine entertainment, culture and reflection. The exhibition particularly highlights Mafalda's battles for gender equality, offering a unique perspective on the evolution of the fight for women's rights.
The exhibition is joined by other events such as a large installation at Castel Sismondo and evening screenings of Mafalda's short films. The event is officially included in the International Celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the character's birth and has obtained the patronage of the Argentine Embassy in Italy.
This is the music festival, a thematic section of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana, for new sounds, that this year will not only accompany the summer as per tradition, but will offer concerts and special events from July until late November, at Corte degli Agostiniani and Teatro Galli.
Ludovico Einaudi's music opens the festival.
The first stage runs through five appointments that illuminate a musical universe with a neo-classical minimalist imprint: Ludovico Einaudi (7 July), a tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto (8 July), Hania Rani (9 July) and the OHT company, led by director Filippo Andreatta with two works from musical theatre (30 and 31 October). The second follows paths contaminated by multiple influences, resonating with the echoes of the first path, with both cultured and popular crossings, acoustic, electronic and vocal experimentation, lyricism and extreme sounds: Eklectric Duo (23 July), John De Leo and the Grande Abarasse Orchestra (3 September), Fabrizio Bosso with Andrea Lucchi, Julian Oliver Mazzariello and Rimini Classica (27 September), ending with the duo Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld (22 November).
at 9.30pm
Set up in the Residence next to the Grand Hotel, with a pathway through photographs, texts, playbills, family heirlooms, newspaper articles, audiovisual and unpublished contributions, the exhibition is a tribute to the thought of a great artist who was unique and against the Italian customs of the time: Ugo tognazzi.
The exhibition is divided into thematic areas, from his theatrical beginnings to his experience as a director, passing through his 150 films as an actor, without forgetting his greatest passions: football and cooking.
The leitmotif of the exhibition is the ‘Tognazzi thought’: the poetics of an author who found nourishment in human relationships, satire, the pleasures of life, and the denunciation of fierce social, economic and sexual models that made him a courageous and counter-current artist.
Time: every day from 10:00am to 9:00pm
The Palazzo del Fulgor - Fellini Museum - is hosting an extraordinary exhibition dedicated to the Santarcangelo painter Pino Boschetti (1944 - 2022), who, through his images, told the stories and people of his native Romagna with imaginative irony. Boschetti, a self-taught artist and keen observer of his country's daily life, takes us on a visual journey that recounts the reality of Romagna with irony and gentleness, bringing out a poetic style made up of everyday details and dreamlike visions.
The exhibition is part of a larger cultural project, ‘Lingue di confine’, dedicated to art in dialect, which explores the profound connections between the mother tongue and artistic expressions through poetry, theatre and painting.

Andrea Shinigami's look at Rimini is everything we do not expect about this city.
It shows a body, made up of people and streets, of people and the sea, caught from one of the many perspectives of which an uninhibited eye is capable; as if Rimini were not Rimini, as if it were something else: all the Other that is everywhere, all the Beyond.
And so this explains the reasons for the title 44°3'27 ‘N 12°33'55 ’E

On Friday 11 October, on the occasion of the centenary of Giacomo Puccini's death, Rimini pays tribute to the composer with the opera 'La rondine' by the Maderna-Lettimi Conservatory, having chosen this ironic and brilliant work for the European project ‘Casta Diva’, with which twelve national institutions celebrate women as represented in Italian musical theatre.
'La rondine' represents a unicum in Puccini's operatic production. Commissioned by the Carltheater in Vienna in 1914, it was, however, not performed for the first time until 1917 in MonteCarlo for wartime reasons.
The libretto is by Giuseppe Adami, adapted and translated from an operetta libretto by Alfred Maria Willner and Heinz Reichert. The opera contains no spoken dialogue and is described as an ‘lyric comedy’.
The performance will be directed by Stefano Vizioli and will feature the young promises of the ‘Maderna-Lettimi’ Conservatory of Cesena and Rimini both on stage and in the orchestra conducted by Paolo Manetti.
