Riviera Dream Vision marks its inaugural edition with a heritage exhibition entitled “FASHION ITINERARIES: STORIES, CODES, IMAGINARIES”. The showcase explores a legacy that weaves together the history, style, and innovation of ten world-renowned brands: Alberta Ferretti (Aeffe Group), Moschino (Aeffe Group), Iceberg (Gilmar Group), and Fuzzi (Anna Maria Fuzzi), alongside the master shoemakers of San Mauro Pascoli: Baldinini, Casadei, Gianvito Rossi, Pollini, Sergio Rossi, and Giuseppe Zanotti.
The initiative celebrates 75 years of history, style, and innovation within the Romagna Fashion District.
Curated by creator Katia Bartolini and Chiara Pompa (from Culture Fashion Communication, International Research Centre of the Department of the Arts, University of Bologna), the exhibition presents the past, present, and future of haute couture through a vital and profound connection with the local area and its historical, cinematic, artistic, and cultural representations. The display is contextualised by archival photographs, postcards, and films (selected from the Biblioteca Gambalunga's photographic archive and the Rimini Cineteca) that restore the visual, social, and cultural memory of Rimini and its coastline to the visitor.
At the Palazzi dell'Arte, visitors can admire a selection of iconic garments, historic footwear, and documentary materials—including drawings, photographs, and audiovisuals—sourced from the archives of ten internationally renowned brands with roots in Romagna. The exhibition also features the ankle boot designed for Michael Jackson for the "Bad" music video and the one created for Beyoncé Knowles, both by Giuseppe Zanotti, alongside the blouson worn by Andy Warhol for the 2006 J.C. de Castelbajac campaign (produced by Iceberg), which was inspired by Pop Art.
Also on display are stage costumes from Fellini’s Casanova, winner of the 1977 Academy Award for Best Costume Design, created by the Emilian production and costume designer Danilo Donati.
The exhibition journey features multimedia installations, augmented reality, and immersive environments, designed to highlight the creative and communicative processes of 'Made in Italy' in a continuous dialogue with the historical iconography of Rimini.
The experience is enhanced by the Virtual Try-on developed by Effingo, an innovative startup associated with the University of Bologna. Using an interactive totem powered by generative AI technologies, visitors can enjoy a unique experience: virtually wearing iconic garments from the exhibition's headline brands, including Alberta Ferretti, Iceberg, and Moschino, thus becoming an integral part of the display. The experience concludes with the real-time creation of a personalised digital postcard, set against the backdrop of Rimini's landmark locations—an innovative, shareable souvenir available for immediate download.
Opening cerimony: Friday 20 February at 7:30 pm, with a special late-night opening until 10:00 pm. Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
