'Giselle', a classical and romantic tradition ballet divided into two acts, will be recorded broadcast, at Tiberio Cinema from the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow.
The drama sees the protagonist of the beautiful Giselle who falls in love with young Albrecht, whom she believes near her humble origins. So it is not, and the discovery of the real identity of her lover will cause her sudden death.
Written by Théophile Gautier in 1841, it was later put down in music by the ballet music composer Adolphe-Charles Adam.
Gautier began writing the booklet thanks to Heinrich Heine's book "De l'Allemagne", reading which he became passionate about the legend of Villi, German folk tradition spirits similar to elves.
The choreographer celebrated at this event is Yuri Grigorovich, class '27, renowned choreographer of the Russian tradition who worked at the Bolshoi over the long period of time that runs from 1964 to 1995.
